The translation and lack of description can be quite charming but also frustrating. Along with the fact that some of the bosses are nowhere near save points means playing the same part over a few times. Other than that it's well worth the pocket money price tag.. The story is slightly confusing and the English is pretty bad, but once you get past that, you have a decent game with good controls(even though for some reason I couldn't customize them), awesome 80s soundtrack (the ice stage was pretty nostalgic for me), and some replayability. It's a first draft, so it's a little rough around the edges, but don't let that stop you from enjoying another decent MetroidVania.. This is like one of the old 2D Metroidvania style Castlevania games. Except that this game is terrible. There was a day when Steam showed only decent, good, or great games. That day has long since passed, as this game shows. This would have barely ranked a two and a half out of five stars as a free flash game.. Plays extremely similarly to SOTN, so if you like that and metroidvanias in general, you'll probably like this. I enjoyed most of the music as well. It does take a bit to get a feel for the controls and their limitations. The story is more or less a non-factor, but that tends to be the case in these types of games. For $3 this game is well worth it, as I have at least 20 hours just trying to 100% it. The only real issues I found are: I got stuck in the floor and had to reload a save one time, one of the achievements didn't trigger so I am stuck at 99%, and the inventory screen is pretty cumbersome (no way to sort and your new equip is always around the bottom of the list). Overall I would say give it a shot.. Hello all and welcome to the review of the day. Say hello to Metamorfose S a metroidvania title that was built by a small spanish (?) team. This game has the exploration aspect of every good Metroidvania down to a T. Exploring this games world was pretty fun. However this game has one of the SLOWEST first acts I've ever seen. I'm not saying it takes a long time, but the first act is kind of bogged down a bit. Once you beat the first boss and get the thorns ability, thus allowing you to access the forest and likewise death mountain (which is at the south of the map), the game starts feeling far more explorative.Likewise the game does have a crafting system for equipment in which by the end of the game will make you feel incredibly overpowered. I didn't 100% the game since oddly I couldn't find the ice passage wall, and the 'break the pipe' achievement never triggered for me.Other than that I highly suggest this game, even if the story is a little thin.
